Among other benefits, you could view our catalogue to see available books, published works by a particular author, which edition of a particular book the library has, and you can access the range of databases available. You can order for any of our publications and database services, then make payment online or through bank transfer. Also, you can make a selection of books you are interested in reading, from our online catalogue, and we will reserve them and make them available to you when you visit our Library. The FITC Virtual Library offers you the comfort of getting things done anywhere, anytime. Purchased books would be shipped to your doorpost.

The Virtual Library is open to everyone, but you need to agree and accept our Terms and Conditions here, then register (i.e. create an account) before you will be allowed to carry out certain activities.

You can click on the "Create an Account" tab at the top right hand of the Virtual Library home page, complete the form, and click on "Register" to create your account.

Yes, you can access the physical library domiciled in FITC; but you must first complete our Pius Okigbo Library membership form here, after which you can access our library situated at FITC House, 164/166 Murtala Muhammed Way, Ebute-Metta, Yaba, Lagos State. There are four categories of users of the physical library:

  1. Members of FITC: This comprises staff of FITC’s member organisations (the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, deposit money banks and discount houses in Nigeria).
  2. General Users: This group comprises other working class members of the public.
  3. Undergraduates: This group consists of students of recognised tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
  4. Corporate: This group is made up of corporate organisations in Nigeria.
No, physical books are strictly for use in the Pius Okigbo Library, and cannot be taken out of the premises.
Yes, you can bring your personal books and laptop to use at the Pius Okigbo Library.
Yes, internet facilities are provided at the Pius Okigbo Library at a token fee.
Yes, printing and photocopying facilities are available at the Pius Okigbo Library at a token fee.
Yes, students doing research can make use of resources at our library, but such students must present referral letters from their institutions and such service would be for a limited period.
Yes, you can access a few databases from the FITC Virtual Library. Check the "EBSCOHost" and "Other Databases" for details.
They are publications which FITC published. They are available for library members' use, and desiring members of the public may also purchase them. A list of available publications of FITC is accessible here.
Click on the interested publication(s), add to your shopping cart, then click on “Proceed to Checkout “, reconfirm your order(s) and shipping cost, then click on “Place Order” to select your preferred method of payment, and complete transaction. Thereafter, an email would be sent to you, stating the status of your transaction. You may also check the status of your transaction from “Your Orders” on the right hand side of your “Account Information” (You can view your account information by clicking on “My Account” tab at the top right hand of the Virtual Library home page). Below are the statuses you may receive:
  • Pending - this means that you have submitted your order but yet to make payment.
  • Paid - this means that you have successfully made payment (online payments get an automatic confirmation, cash payments get instant confirmation, while bank deposit may take a day or two before confirmation).
  • Processing - this means that your order is being processed.
  • Complete - this could either mean your publication(s) has been shipped or your Library registration has been completed, or your EBSCOHost account has been created.
  • Cancelled - this is when you cancel an order before making payment.
  • Failed - this is when your payment fails (either online transaction failed or bank details submitted were found to be unverifiable).
  • Bank - this is when you have submitted your bank payment details.
  • Denied - this is when your order is denied for certain reasons (e.g. false information supplied for the Pius Okigbo Library registration).
Yes, you can change your delivery address, as the system only recognises the address provided during your Virtual Library membership registration. To change your delivery address click here.
You can view the status of your order by clicking on the "Order Tracking" link at the bottom right corner on the home page.
